Caroline and her family have lived in London, Jersey, The Isle of Man, Frome relocating with her husband in 2024 to Pathlow in Warwickshire. Looking forward to a quieter chapter after her children had left home—or so she thought—they made the move with their two dogs and cat in search of a smaller house with a larger garden, where Caroline could finally create the spacious studio she had always envisioned.
Caroline Walsh-Waring has developed a distinctive and unique style through years of dedicated practice and allowing herself to be inspired by what she sees and feels. Her images are reactions to the world around her, scenes, shapes, current events and experiences all provide sustenance to her surreal imagination.
She strives to depict these thoughts with elements from the natural world, nature is a master surrealist, showing us the beauty and brutality of life.
She is uplifted by the simple pleasure of the beauty and wonder of a sky, a tree, a landscape, to demonstrate her true feelings she often depicts these with symbols. Exaggerating the curve of a hill, colour of a sky or tree to enhance the mood.
Caroline finds oil paint is the most flexible medium to express these emotions, It has fluidity, and vibrancy of colour. In addition, she uses watercolour, pen and ink and pencil to explore and develop her ideas.
She becomes completely involved in each image she creates leading her to a strong emotional attachment. She goes to painstaking efforts to ensure the sensation she is conveying is produced to her complete satisfaction no matter how significant or seemingly simple the initial idea.

Caroline has drawn and created all her life, as a child, encouraged and supported by her architect father until he died when she was 17.
She ained a Diploma in Textiles at Great Yarmouth College of Art and Design, but unease at home convinced her to initially turn her back on art through a need to support herself independantly. Eventually working in London she took further art studies and was encouraged to undertake courses in France. Her aim to become a full-time artist.
Caroline works predominantly with oil paint and also enjoys working with watercolour, ink, pen and pencil.
She is a member of the Visual Artists Association, was selected for Curators Choice in the VAA Online Exhibition 2021 and a finalist in the VAA Professional Artists Awards 2022 and was long listed in the VAA Artists of the Year Competition 2024 and in the Visual Arts Open 2026.
Exhibitions
Caroline has exhibited been exhibiting regularly since 2006, selling in the UK, including London, America, Australia, Germany, Poland and Ukraine.
Since moving to Pathlow in Warwickshire she has joined and exhibited with the Leamington Studio Artists, Stratford Art Society, The Association of Midland Artists, Warwickshire Open Studios and become a Friend of the RBSA. The huge upside of this move means she has continued to expand her group of artist contacts and friends and she is thrilled to have found a group of people so receptive to her unique style of surrealism.
Caroline has found a lively, supportive arts community in Warwickshire offering many new and interesting opportunities for her to explore.
For several years she exhibited in and organised Frome Open Art Trail, in Somerset, and ran the Frome Artists Cafe for 11 years. She also curated venues in The Cloth Road, Wylye Valley Art trail, Totterdown Arts Trail and Peacock Arts Trail during this time. She has taken part in group exhibitions in galleries such as Gagliardi Gallery in London, Adlib Gallery, Wimbledon and Black Swan Arts, Frome, Bath Art Fair, Contemporary Art Fairs Epsom and Newmarket and Art Surrey.
While living in Somerset she was an associate with 44AD, Bath, a member of The Old Bakery Artists, Radstock and Frome Art Society.

Caroline is very happy to be contacted to arrange a visit to her studio. So she is not tied to opening times just send an email or telephone her to arrange your visit. Her timings are very flexible. Parking is opposite the house and there is plenty of room.
Should you wish have a query about prices Caroline is very open to discuss options. She creates Limited Edition prints of some of her images, a selection of greetings cards and recently has made designs for T-Towels and Mugs. Caroline will not sell her work as NFTs.

Caroline has two bouncy dogs who will greet you noisily and enthusiastically! They are very friendly but if you would rather not meet them just let her know, not everyone is a dog lover. She also has a cat but he is very shy and unlikely to be seen unless it’s supper time. They have their own Instagram page @fatjakeandthehounddogs.
Location
Whilst here you can enjoy her lovely garden which borders on Oak Wood, containing some 30 fully grown trees, numerous plums, damson, apples and a burgeoning cherry! She and her husband are not the best gardeners but the spot is so lovely it doesn’t really matter! They are doing their best to encourage as many indigenous wild flowers as they can.
