Inspiration
Caroline’s oil paintings are inspired by her imagination which has always been vivid and random. Often berated at school for day dreaming she has turned this enjoyable habit into inspiration for her images, believing that 90% of creativity is looking.
Her thoughts often link her experiences with the images she finds in life and nature. Sometimes stimulating a serious or deep thought on current events or just seeing the funny side of life. Either way she creates from her heart, remaining true to her original aims to create as she wishes and not to be dictated to by commercialism, fashion or so called authority. Although her work may not look like the statement of a rebel, her resistance to formality is quietly as strong as it ever was.
Why does she paint?
As a child Caroline drew, on everything, much to the consternation of school and her parents (except her father who provided umpteen amounts of drawing paper). Even once she began working very few surfaces escaped without a doodle.
When she first returned to art, while she still had a busy job London, painting fitted into her life most comfortably. Finally, giving up the restrictions and financial security of working it seemed natural to carry on, although she has experimented with ceramics, unfortunately the onset of Rheumatoid Arthritus made this impractical much to her dismay.

A New Chapter in Pathlow
In March 2024, Caroline and her husband moved from their home of 15 years to Pathlow, near Stratford-upon-Avon. Their children have spread their wings and the move was motivated by a desire for a more manageable house and a larger garden for their two dogs. This significant lifestyle shift has also allowed Caroline to create a purpose-built, light-filled studio. A long-awaited dream and a major step forward in her creative journey.
As a result, she is now embracing this new phase with enthusiasm. Enjoying producing a fresh body of work to add to her eclectic and imaginative portfolio. Surrounded by new scenery and supported by a rejuvenated sense of purpose, Caroline is excited about what lies ahead.
Experience & Exhibitions
Professionally, Caroline brings a wealth of experience and has exhibited her work extensively across both local and national platforms. Over the years, she has also played an important role behind the scenes, curating a wide variety of successful exhibitions — from intimate showcases to large-scale events. She is often called upon in an advisory capacity due to her deep knowledge and curatorial insight.
Since relocating, Caroline has become a member of Leamington Studio Artists, a well-respected and vibrant collective of over 480 creatives. Notably, her work has been selected for every one of their exhibitions in the past year. A distinction she finds both humbling and energizing, especially given the limited number of pieces accepted per show (around 80). This consistent recognition has affirmed her decision to integrate more deeply into Warwickshire’s dynamic art scene.
What’s Next
Looking ahead, Caroline is expanding her presence further, with exhibitions planned in collaboration with Stratford Art Society, The Association of Midland Artists, Birmingham & Midland Institute and Art Surrey in 2026. These opportunities reflect her growing momentum and the evolving nature of her artistic practice.
With new surroundings, a dedicated creative space, and a flourishing network of fellow artists, Caroline’s move marks not just a change of address — but the beginning of an inspiring new era.
